Community Engagement
Equipping Changemakers. Inspiring Growth.
At Circle of Care, we believe thriving communities are built through meaningful relationships, shared experiences, and collective action. Our community engagement initiatives foster healing, belonging, and resilience in local neighborhoods and across diverse groups.
The Inner Lens Photovoice Project
The Inner Lens Photovoice Project is a six-week creative journey designed for inner-city youth ages 13–19, using smartphone photography as a powerful tool for self-expression, reflection, and community connection. Through themed sessions grounded in Scripture, participants explore their thoughts, emotions, and daily experiences, capturing real-life moments and engaging in group dialogue, spiritual reflection, and skill-building activities. Each Saturday gathering blends photovoice methodology with outdoor adventures, emotional wellness discussions, and playful connection, creating a safe space for youth to be seen, heard, and supported.
This pilot round of the program has successfully engaged a diverse group of 12 youth, who have shown consistent participation, creativity, and insight throughout the journey. The project has not only fostered personal growth and resilience among the youth but also strengthened relationships with local churches, community members, and partner organizations. The program will culminate in a public photo gallery, allowing the youth to share their unique perspectives and stories with family, friends, and the wider community.
The Inner Lens Photovoice Project is a powerful expression of our community engagement service, creating a safe and creative space where youth can share their stories, reflect on their experiences, and build meaningful connections. By combining art, dialogue, and spiritual reflection, the program strengthens relationships among young people, mentors, and the broader community, helping foster healing, a sense of belonging, and a shared vision

Supporting Children, Youth and Families
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
TF-CBT for Children, Youth and Families is a four-month trauma recovery program that helps Ethiopian children and adolescents heal from experiences of abuse, violence, loss, or other traumatic events. Using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), the program combines evidence-based practices with culturally relevant approaches, offering both individual and caregiver sessions. Children learn to manage trauma symptoms through creative activities, emotional regulation, and cognitive tools, while caregivers are empowered to support their child’s healing. This initiative reflects Circle of Care’s holistic commitment to emotional wellness, family strengthening, and long-term resilience in our communities.
